Here’s your chance to set yourself apart from other applicants and have your work recognised by The RCOG.

Awards

The RCOG awards open for submission in the Spring term of each year. The deadline for submission is late May of each year. Keep your eyes peeled for next year's opportunities.

This prize is open to final year medical students or FY1 doctors in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The prize is awarded for the best submission of an article that outlines your insight into any aspect of obstetrics and gynaecology undertaken during your training. Preference will be given to well-planned and presented applications. Please see here for more information.

The RCOG, with the kind and generous support of Ethicon, is pleased to offer up to £500 of funding towards approved student medical electives in obstetrics and gynaecology taking place between autumn 2018 and 2019. Please see here for more information.

The Herbert Erik Reiss Memorial Prize is available to FY1 and FY2 doctors or Specialist Training Years 1 and 2 in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Two prizes, (second prize £200, first prize £400) are awarded to candidates who submit the most outstanding presentation of a clinical case, including critical assessment and literature research, on a topic in obstetrics and gynaecology. This award is for FY1 or FY2 doctors across the UK and Republic of Ireland and will be awarded to the two best presentations of a case history, focused on either:

  • Women with complications of pregnancy and giving birth.
  • A clinical audit of report of a research project.

This prize is open to medical students from the UK and Republic of Ireland. The successful applicants will show the greatest understanding of a clinical problem in obstetrics and gynaecology by submitting a case history with an intelligent discussion. Please see here for more information.

The winner of this prize will be a medical student who presents an application that best articulates their reasoning and objectives for wanting to complete an overseas elective in a certain region. Please see here for more information.
