Your Role as an Ambassador

To become an Ambassador for BUSOG, you have to show dedication, willingness to learn as well as why you are so interested in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Ambassadors play an extremely important role in promoting the society, guiding fellow students towards it for educational opportunities and resources as well as making us who we are.

Here you can find a list of duties that are involved in the role as an ambassador, and we would like to be updated about the progress you have made at your university, as well as be approached for guidance about what you could do to make the most of your role.

The Role:

BUSOG has elected an Ambassador from every medical school in the country. Ambassadors are responsible for  representing BUSOG at the medical school where they study. Every Ambassador has a pivotal role in the Society, as they are a direct link between their University and BUSOG.

Ambassadors will be in regular contact with the BUSOG National Committee via email and are therefore advised to check their inbox on a regular basis and respond promptly. Ambassadors are expected to communicate all BUSOG events, messages and relevant news to the medical students at their university, and encourage students who are interested to become a member of BUSOG.  Ambassadors should use an array of social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep their students up-to-date with BUSOG activities.

Ambassadors are also expected to relay any comments, ideas and feedback from fellow medical students to BUSOG. We welcome student feedback and ideas to constantly improve our Society and the resources it can offer.

Our BUSOG Ambassadors will meet annually to network, discuss events and projects for the future, and to reflect on work done during the year. Outstanding Ambassadors will also be awarded prizes for their hard work.

We hope you will enjoy working with BUSOG. We are looking forward to working together to encourage interest and enthusiasm for obstetrics and gynaecology in medical students and junior doctors around the country. The commitment and hard work of BUSOG Ambassadors will be crucial to achieving our goals, and for this we thank you.

If you are not currently an Ambassador, please do keep checking our Recruitment page in order to make sure you do not miss out on the application process.
